Just when you think you have seen it all... the annual Huron Turkey Races takes place every spring in downtown Huron!
The event draws huge crowds eager to watch teams of two try to encourage their turkey feathered friend to cross the finish line first for a chance to win a $1,000 nest egg. Race turkeys are available for purchase by local businesses and individuals.
In addition, there are a variety of other turkey festivities including Mascot Races, Turkey Cheerleaders, Land Ski Races, Candy Scramble, Spirit Award, Face Painting, Scotty D's Built for BBQ, Turkey Jerky, and even Fowl Balls to test your palate.
Event proceeds go towards a community or civic cause identified prior to the event. Previous recipients of the proceeds include Huron Public Schools for athletic equipment and downtown beautification efforts.
The event is free to the public and fun for the entire family.
