Huron Ringneck Festival Competition Hunt and Bird Dog Challenge
November 5-7, 2009 will mark the 12th year of the Huron Ringneck Festival competition and the 8th year for the Bird Dog Challenge.
Twenty-eight teams with participants from as far as away as Washington, Georgia, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Nebraska compete in the event.
Huron ShowTime Classic Tournament
Approximately forty teams from across the state take the court for the annual Huron Show Time Classic Boys and Girls Youth Basketball Tournament.
The tournament consists of teams from 4th through 9th grade at the Nordby Center for Recreation.
Antique Power Show - June 20-21, 2009 (Father's Day)
Experience the historical days of antique tractors, cars, steam and stationary gas engines during the Antique Tractor and Power Show.
The event features about 150 exhibits and displays, entertainment, demonstrations, flea market, parade and tractor and car games.

Backstreet Cruisers Car and Windriders Abate Bike Show
Each year over 100 cars and trucks and 25 bikes come together on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds for the Backstreet Cruisers
Car and Windriders Abate Bike Show. All makes, models and ages are welcomed. Now the show is held each year in June with the Wheel Jam Event.
Dakota State Fair Speedway is one of the top stock car racing facilities in the upper Midwest. Located at the SD State Fairgrounds,
the 3/8 mile oval track features five different divisions that compete on a weekly basis throughout the summer. The speedway also features
special races throughout the year such as the Challenge Series on June 6th featuring late models at their best, ASCS National sprint cars,
our 4th of July spectacular and newly located Central Wissota 100 making this the most exciting show of racing in South Dakota and the Midwest.

Rolling Thunder Speedway Go-Kart Races
Starting the first weekend in May, the go-kart racing will be taking place at the Rolling Thunder Speedway and continuing until September.

The Heartland Snowmobile Trail
For the winter outdoorsmen, the Huron area offers 73 miles of groomed snowmobile trails which extends way beyond its borders as it
connects with other trail systems throughout the state. Depending on your location, the trail runs west of Iroquois to Huron, cuts
over to Hwy. 37 and travels to Hwy. 34. From there, you travel west on Hwy. 34 for Hwy 281 where you go north to the Alpena Road.
Turn east and back to Hwy. 37. The trails are groomed regularly pending snow conditions. The Great Plains Snow Trailers is a
snowmobile club that conducts several club rides and poker runs annually. For information on the snowmobile club or trail system,

Bergman Community Activity Center
The Activity Center offers a large array of activities including indoor soccer, ice skating and basketball.
However, it is most widely know as home of the Huron All Stars Hockey Teams. During the winter season, hundreds of youth
participate in the Huron Hockey Association hockey season. The facility also offers open skating as well as ice shows throughout
