Welcome to Jefferson Elementary School. My name is Peggy Heinz. I am the principal at Jefferson and Washington Elementary schools. Jefferson School is located between 8^th and 9^th street, on Utah Ave. The address is 855 Utah S.E. Our phone number is 353-7880. Attendance boundaries are from Market Road to 13^th street north and south and from Illinois to the James River east and west.

 

Jefferson School was built in 1927, and consists of twelve classrooms, a large gymnasium, kitchen, office, and numerous small learning areas. We have a computer lab, and two to three computers in each classroom.

 

I have 13 years experience in Special Education working with students at the elementary, middle school, and high school. I received a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education from Northern State University. I received my masters in Elementary Administration from Northern State University. I am married to Dennis Heinz, who works at Northwestern. We have 4 children, Houstyn, Hyland, Havyn and Hamtyn.

 

Parents are welcomed and encouraged to visit. All visitors are asked to report to the office upon the arrival in the building. If you wish to eat hot lunch with your child please call before 9:00 am.

 

I am very excited to be working with an outstanding staff and students at Jefferson. Also, I am looking forward to  meeting  all of you.
