Community Meetings
Public Encouraged to Attend Community Meeting
Monday, May 12th at the Huron Event Center
Do you have great ideas to make Huron a better place to live? Small groups have met in various locations throughout Huron. A wrap-up community meeting will be held to share the findings of the neighborhood meetings and to seek ideas in developing an execution plan for the community.
The meetings are sponsored by a local group participating in a program called Creating a Value-Added Community (CVAC). Organizations involved include The City of Huron, The Heartland Region of the United Way, Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau and Leadership Huron.

Welcome To Huron
Huron is a wonderful place to live, work, play and raise a family. With a population of approximately 12,000, we are known for our outstanding school system (both public and private), our state-of-the-art Medical Center, the Huron Event Center and the Arena. Huron offers a unique mix of services, entertainment, and recreational opportunities ranging from beautiful parks, golf courses, and walking trails to riverside fishing, paddle boating, miniature golf and swimming.
In addition, Huron is home of many annual events including the Huron Ringneck Festival, SD Women's Expo, the Antique Power Show, Wheel Jam, Parade of Lights, Stock Car Racing, and the SD State Fair, just to name a few.
We hope you have a chance to come and experience the flavor of our community whether for just a short visit or a permanent stay (we'd love to welcome you as one of our newest residence). Hope we get to see and meet you soon in Huron, SD!
