  • Crime Stoppers
  • Crime Stoppers is a community wide program where people can leave information about criminal activity. Callers can remain anonymous if they choose to. If the information that is provided leads to an arrest and conviction, a reward for the information can be offered. To report criminal activity, please contact Crime Stoppers at 353-8555.

  • DARE Program
  • Drug Abuse Resistance Education. The Huron Police Department teaches it's DARE Program to all 5th grade students in the public school system and St. Martin's Catholic School. The program consists of 10 weeks of classroom instruction and a graduation ceremony.

  • Pedestrian & Bicycle Safety Programs
  • Pedestrian & Bicycle Safety Programs are offered every fall and spring to elementary children in the public school system.

  • Safety City Program
  • The Safety City Program is sponsored by the American Legion and is held every summer. The program is designed to teach vehicle and pedestrian safety to preschool children.

  • School Resource Officer
  • The Huron Police Department provides a uniformed officer who acts as the School Resource Officer for the school system. His office is located at the Huron High School. He is the liaison between law enforcement and the youth in the community. He speaks in the classrooms upon request, and patrols all school grounds.
