Biography
David McGirr is currently serving his 2nd term as Mayor of Huron. He was first elected as Mayor in 2006, and was reelected in 2009. Prior to running for Mayor, McGirr served from 1997 to 2006 as a Huron City Commissioner.
The Mayor is Department Liaison for government buildings, city attorney’s office, street lights, and fulfilling the duties of other city commissioners in their absence. The Mayor is also the designated Board/Committee Liaison to Greater Huron Development Corporation, the Community Development Foundation, Civil Service Board, Huron Community Campus Board, Insurance Committee, Capital Asset Committee, and James River Housing Corporation.
Born and raised in Wessington, South Dakota, David and his wife Linda moved to Huron when they purchased Creative Printing in 1989, which they still own and operate. They have two grown children, Sara and Matthew.

Born in Huron, Jan is a life-long resident and a 1955 graduate of Huron High School. She’s married with 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Jan was the Administrator and Instructor of Northwest College of Commerce until 1989 and is currently the Director for the Jan Manolis Family Safe Center. She has been a City Commissioner for 21 years.

Biography
Kerwin is a lifetime resident of Beadle County and is a U.S. Army Veteran. He served on the Huron School Board for 3 terms from 1995 to 2004 and has served on the City Commission since 2007. He is a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and has been a past board member for the Huron Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Cornerstones Career Learning Center.
Kerwin has been employed at Terex Utilities for the past 33 years and has served in a variety of positions including Maintenance Supervisor, Production Control Supervisor, HR Manager and currently as a Manufacturing Engineer.
Kerwin and his wife Gail have been married for 37 years and have 3 children (Chad, Joshua, Kameryn) and 2 grandchildren (Jordyn, Dawson). Kerwin’s interests include bowling, golf, politics, and local sports.

Biography
Mark was born, raised and has lived in the Huron area his entire life. He feels it’s been a great place to grow up and live, and now as City Commissioner it has been a new experience to see how Huron works. He invites the challenge to keep Huron a great place to live and raise a family. Mark and his wife Lori have been married for 25 years and have 4 children. Mark’s hobbies are hunting, spending time at the lake and following area high school and college sports.

Biography
Born in Parkston, SD, Dale graduated from Tripp High School. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Sioux Falls, and his Master’s degree in School Administration from Northern State University. Dale is a retired Superintendent from the Hitchcock School District. Dale has one daughter and has been a City Commissioner for 9 years.
